The Couch Potato Range - The Desiree

The Desiree is essentially a Sebago system with a custom installation to suit your motor home or caravan with components of the Sebago system neatly incorporated into your mobile home.

An integrated drawbar dish mount / junction box is recommended for vans. If you are a motor home owner who trailers a run-around car, the mount can be fixed to the car trailer drawbar if required.

The tripod is available as a back up to accommodate those times when vegetation stops you from acquiring the satellite from your current van location. With 6 metre and 16 metre dish/decoder connection cables supplied as standard the chances of finding a window to the satellite are greatly enhanced.

ABOVE: The tow bar mount allows ease of connection with a stowable mast assembly on the trailer draw bar, or a mobile tripod mounted dish if an aperture to the satellite cannot be found from the trailer location. Two cables through to the motor home interior accommodate the dual LNB required for the newer AUSTAR decoders. All cabling is in conduit under the motor home chassis and terminates in the interior on a wall plate of your choice. BELOW: No more destroyed cables jammed in cabinet doors.

Every effort will be made to accommodate reliability with aesthetics during the installation. Only FOXTEL approved RG 6 quad shield cable and FOXTEL approved weatherproof compression connecters will be used. Clipsal is the brand of choice for wall plates and connecter inserts. Décor matching will be attempted where practical.  The only limit to fit out and options is your imagination. You can mix and match VAST with AUSTAR, Ethnic subscription services, Evangelical TV, or dedicated news and current affairs services with a generic decoder. You may choose to connect each decoder to the satellite dish LNB output manually, or, each decoder can be permanently wired to the dish signal with additional components

In the case of a combined VAST and AUSTAR installation the Couch Potato on the Move could select all channels with remote controls if the permanent wiring option was selected. 

You may limit the wall plate outlets to internal installation only, or have a duplicate set installed outside the van to set up easily on those balmy days under the annex.

Try and have the van on a suitable piece of flat ground and with maximum clearance if access to the van underside is required. A roomy garage is perfect.

Below, well drained and plenty of room at Standown Caravan Park. A perfect venue for R.V. and caravan work.

From a servicing point of view Standown Park is pretty much text book as a location to maintain and rewire vans.
